Thanks for dropping by. I’m Mark, host of the Pilot Life Podcast.
Pilot Life is a podcast for pilots and aspiring pilots across Australia and New Zealand, created to help us learn, grow and enjoy aviation.
Each episode explores a different part of the flying life. Sometimes we sit down with people from across the aviation industry and hear the stories behind their careers. Other episodes look at aviation topics that are worth understanding — from flight training and airline operations to human factors, decision-making, leadership, safety and life beyond the flight deck.
The podcast isn’t really just about aeroplanes. It’s about the people who happen to fly them.
You’ll hear practical aviation knowledge, thoughtful conversations and interesting stories, as well as episodes where we unpack a particular aviation topic, incident or idea.
Whether you’re preparing for your first solo, working towards your PPL, CPL or ATPL, flying professionally, instructing, or simply passionate about aviation, there should be something here for you.
Pilot Life is also becoming more than just a podcast. It’s a growing community of aviators across Australia and New Zealand — a place to share experiences, keep learning, think a little more deeply about our profession and, importantly, enjoy being part of aviation.
From 2027, I’ll also be joined by guests from across the industry and occasional co-hosts, bringing different voices, experiences and perspectives to the show.
Pilot Life is produced by the team behind Pilot Life, creators of professional online aviation theory training for pilots in Australia and New Zealand. The podcast complements our training, but stands on its own as a place for conversation, curiosity and connection.
New episodes are released regularly, and I’d love you to be part of them. Send us your questions, stories and ideas — you might even hear your contribution on a future episode.
Welcome to Pilot Life.
